Teeneager critical after M74 motorway hit

A TEENAGER is critically ill after being struck by a car while trying to cross a busy motorway. The accident happened on the M74 near junction 6 at about 9:40pm on Monday.

The 16-year-old youth was hit by a southbound black Citroen C2 driven by a woman who is said to have tried to avoid him. The driver, 40, and her eight-year-old son were treated for shock.
