Scotland’s weather: Islands ferry services cancelled due to high winds

A weather warning issued for Friday evening has caused cancellations to Orkney Ferries and Caledonian MacBrayne services.

High winds have affested services throughout the day, and forecasters are predicting gusts of up to 75 mph this evening.

Orkney Ferries have cancelled all services to North Ronaldsay in the Orkney Islands on Friday. Caledonian MacBrayne have cancelled their service to Barra and South Uist.

Travellers are advised to check with their ferry company before travelling, as other services are likely to be cancelled or disrupted.
