BUDGET airliner Ryanair is expected to make a major announcement about the future of its business in Scotland - sparking fears about the future of Prestwick Airport.

Suggestions that the Ayrshire airport, now owned by the Scottish Government, is at risk of being ditched by Ryanair have been heightened as Ryanair prepare to outline its next move in simultaneous news conferences in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Reports suggest that the airline may announce that it is to begin flying from Glasgow Airport

Ryanair is the only airline that operates from Prestwick.
