AN off-duty RAF serviceman who died in a motorbike crash within the air base at Lossiemouth has been named by police as Sergeant Peter Wildman from nearby Elgin.

Police were called to the scene at 9.15pm on Tuesday.

The accident on an unnamed road involved a red Honda VFR 1200 motorbike.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “As is standard an investigation will be carried out in liaison with the RAF and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

He confirmed Sgt Wildman, a non-commissioned officer, was off duty at the time.
