TAYSIDE Police today warned drivers in the Perth area to exercise extreme caution following an extensive diesel spill affecting two busy trunk roads on the outskirts of the city.
The warning was issued after two vehicle collisions as result of the spill which is affecting both the A9 Perth to Inverness road and the A90 Perth to Dundee road.
The spill, from an articulated lorry, runs from the A9 at the roadworks at Cairnie Braes, through Windyedge, Broxden and Craigend and onto the A90 across to the Kinfauns side of Friarton Bridge.
A Tayside Police spokesman said: “As of 9.30am, there had been two non-injury traffic incidents seemingly as a result of the spillage. The vehicle has been identified and Bear Scotland is attending in the area to deal with the spillage. Warning signs are in place.”
