Pedestrian killed in collision near Wester Durris named

THE pedestrian who was killed in a collision with a van on the South Deeside road near Wester Durris on Wednesday night has been named as Timothy Jones, 37, of Peggy’s Garden, Kirkton of Durris.

He was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident involving a Volkswagen delivery van on a straight stretch of the B9077 shortly after 7.20pm on Wednesday.

The fatal accident closed the busy road for several hours to allow accident investigators to examine the scene

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: “Grampian Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Mr Jones walking in the South Deeside road area towards Kirkton of Durris to get in touch.”
