Motorcyclist killed in Highlands crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in a single vehicle crash on a road in the Highlands.

The man, who has still to be named, died in an accident on the A896 near Shieldaig in Wester Ross, at around 1.20pm today

A spokesman for North Constabulary said: “Police can confirm that following the one vehicle road traffic collision on the A896 close to Shieldaig in Wester Ross earlier this afternoon, one man has received fatal injuries.

“The road is closed to allow officers to carry out a road traffic collision investigation. No further details will be made available until all next of kin are aware and formal identification has taken place.”
