Man killed in tractor accident named

AN elderly man who died after a crash between a car and a tractor has been named by police.

Gordon Stephen, 71, died at the scene of the collision in Moray on Thursday morning.

Two women were also injured following the incident on the A95 Keith to Banff road.

Grampian Police said the crash happened shortly before 11am by the unclassified road leading to Braco Brae, Grange.

Mr Stephen, from Keith, was the driver of the car involved, a black Subaru Tribeca.

A 48-year-old woman who was sitting in the back seats of the car was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

The front seat passenger, a 58-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin where she was treated for minor injuries.

The 47-year-old man behind the wheel of the green John Deere tractor was uninjured.

Police said collision investigators spent several hours carrying out a “detailed” examination of the scene, which led to the road being closed until 7pm on Thursday.
