Man in hospital after being hit by car in Angus

A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after being struck by a car on a dual carriageway, police said.

The man was hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra as he crossed the A92 south of Arbroath, Angus, at the Salmond’s Muir junction.

The incident happened shortly after 3am today on the westbound side of the road.

Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian, whose age has not been revealed, was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Police Scotland said no other vehicles were involved and no-one else was injured as a result of the collision.

Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who can help them with their enquiries, to contact them on 101.
