A MAN has died following a two-car crash on a north-east road.

The collision between a green Vauxhall Astra and a gold Renault Scenic happened on the B9033 Fraserburgh to St Combs Road in Aberdeenshire at around 7.10pm yesterday.

Police Scotland said a 52-year-old man died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident, which happened at the junction with the B9107 at Inverallochy.

Three other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Officers said inquiries are at an early stage and they are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

Sergeant Rob Warnock, of the Aberdeenshire and Moray road policing unit, said: “This is a tragic incident that has sadly resulted in a 52-year-old man losing his life.

“Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t spoken to police to do so.

“Additionally, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident is asked to contact us.”
