Lothians sites chosen for mobile safety cameras

Mobile safety cameras are being deployed at sites around Edinburgh and the Lothians next week.

In Edinburgh the cameras will be situated at the A90 Cramond, Muirhouse Parkway, West Granton Road and the A70 Balerno.

Across the Lothians cameras will can be found at A899 Lizzie Bryce, A899 Deer Park, A71 Polbeth, A71 Breich, A705 East Whitburn and A89 Armadale.

Motorists are reminded that average speed cameras are operating on the M9 at Junction 1A and on the M9 Spur where they are enforcing the reduced 40mph speed limit.

Every year camera sites are assessed according to guidelines set by the Scottish Safety Camera Programme. The guidelines are based on the number of casualties and collisions, length of site, type of camera and speed survey documentation.
