Hit-and-run on teen treated as attempted murder

Police are treating a hit-and-run which injured a 16-year-old boy as attempted murder.

The teenager was struck by a blue car which mounted the pavement in Glenmanor Avenue, Moodiesburn, North Lanarkshire, at about 10:10pm on Saturday, Strathclyde Police said.

The youngster, who was with 10 to 15 others, was hit by the vehicle, thought to be a Honda Civic or similar, which is said to have been “driven directly at them”.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to injuries to his head and body. His condition is described as
stable.
