Groups given tram trip offer

PRIVATE groups are to be offered a trip on an Edinburgh tram as part of a charm offensive to overcome the poor publicity surrounding the project.

Tram bosses plan to invite small groups of interested parties for guided tours of the tram depot at Gogar, including a short ride in a moving tram.

Transport convener Lesley Hinds said pre-booked tours for the public were also being considered.

She claimed recent progress on the project had changed people’s attitudes to the trams.
