Extra train drafted in by ScotRail after delays
ScotRail has drafted in extra resources
SCOTRAIL has had to hire an extra train after a shortage of carriages caused by faults and a collision led to overcrowding.
Scotland’s main train operator has acted after mechanical problems and three incidents such as a crash with a car near Stranraer this month forced many services to run with fewer coaches than normal.
The firm admitted it had had received many complaints and said it appreciated the shortage had resulted “in a less comfortable journey”.
A spokesman said today: “We’re working hard to resolve these issues as soon as possible, using every train at our disposal.
“We’re hiring an additional train to try to alleviate some of the problems.”
