Elderly victim of car crash dies

An ELDERLY woman who was airlifted to hospital following a two-car crash has died.

The 75-year-old was travelling west on the A828 near the Creagan Inn in Appin, Argyll, when her Peugeot 207 car collided with an eastbound Vauxhall Astra carrying two foreign nationals.

She was cut free from her vehicle by firefighters and taken by air ambulance to the Southern General in Glasgow, but died a short time later. The other driver remains in a critical condition.
