A MAN who died after his car mounted the pavement and struck a wall in Dundee has been named by police as 77-year-old Douglas Grewar.

Douglas Grewar, 77, was driving west on Harefield Road in Dundee when his blue Ford Fiesta crossed on to the opposite carriageway near Kings Cross Road.

The vehicle then mounted the pavement and hit a wall.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened at around 9.50pm yesterday.

Mr Grewar, from Dundee, was taken to the city’s Ninewells Hospital where he died a short time later.

Police Scotland said the road was closed for three hours for investigations to take place.

The force appealed for information from any witnesses.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
