MOTORISTS in Dundee are being warned they will be faced with reduced speed limits on three busy stretches of road in the city following a review by the city council.
The speed limit on Dalhousie Road and Monifieth Road in Broughty Ferry, part of the A930, is to be reduced from 40 mph to 30mph from tomorrow (Wednesday), while on the Coupar Angus Road the maximum speed will be reduced from 50mph to 40mph next Wednesday.
The existing 50mph limit on A85 at Riverside Drive will also come down on Monday 11 March, to 40mph.
Councillor Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee, said the speed reductions were being brought into force following detailed analysis of traffic volumes, accidents, and local concerns.
He said: “These three stretches of road have all been the subject of close inspection and unanimous agreement that we should reduce the speed limits on each one of them.
“The lower limits will make a significant difference to the quality of life of the people who live, work and travel through these areas, and I am sure they will welcome the action the council has taken.”
