Crash death woman named

A WOMAN who died after a two-car crash in south-west Scotland has been named by police.

She was June Burke, 77, from Bury in Lancashire, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Friday.

Two others were taken to hospital after the collision on the A713 near Carsfad Loch, Carsphairn in Kirkcudbrightshire, at about 5:50pm.

The crash involved a blue Renault Scenic and a silver Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The road was closed and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary on 0845 600 5701.
