A LEATHER producer has sealed a “six-figure” deal to supply Singapore Airlines’ latest business-class cabins.
Glasgow-based Andrew Muirhead & Son will provide leather for Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which will feature large seats, Ottoman storage units and widescreen televisions. The airline has even recorded a video inside Muirhead’s factory to demonstrate the production process to its customers.
Archie Browning, sales director at Muirhead, said: “We are very proud to continue our long-standing relationship with Singapore Airlines with this new supply agreement for its business-class product. The new cabins are designed and constructed with a very exacting attention to detail.”
Muirhead said it is already the largest supplier of leather to the aviation industry, working with more than 130 airlines and manufacturers. The firm is part of Scottish Leather Group, the UK’s largest leather producer.
Muirhead also lists Hilton Hotels, Morgan Motor Company and Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group among its clients.
