AN expected mass exodus for Christmas is well under way after thousands passed through Edinburgh Airport.

The terminal was expecting an eight per cent rise in passengers this weekend, with around 104,000 people expected to be heading in or out of the Capital.

Airport chief executive Gordon Dewar said: “Being Scotland’s largest brings its own challenges and we’re making sure passengers travelling this weekend have a great experience.”
