Edinburgh Airport chiefs have welcomed an increase in the number of flights between the Capital and Orkney this autumn.
Loganair, an offshoot of Flybe, has announced 14 new weekend services on the route throughout September and October.
The airline said the decision was made as a result of high demand for flights between the islands and mainland during the school holidays.
Gordon Dewar, chief executive at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We’re delighted that Loganair will be increasing their services to Kirkwall. Orcadians will be able to take full advantage of more flights to Edinburgh, bringing Orkney closer to over 130 worldwide destinations.”
