AIR Malta announced today it is to resume flights to Glasgow airport after a gap of four years with a weekly service on Tuesdays between May and October.
The new charter flights follow the launch of services to the Mediterranean island south of Sicily by Ryanair from Edinburgh and Prestwick.
Air Malta chief commercial officer Philip Saunders said: “Our strategy is to become the market leader for flights to Malta and our summer charter operation from Glasgow airport allows us to cater for Scottish holidaymakers during the busiest months.”
Glasgow airport commercial director Francois Bourienne said: “Malta’s flag carrier is yet another welcome boost as we look to add new routes and capacity to meet demand from Scottish holidaymakers.”
