A9 closed at Tomatin after lorry crash

A jack-knifed lorry has caused the closure of the southbound carriageway on the A9 at Tomatin, south of Inverness.

A diversion has been put in place through the village while a recovery lorry works to remove the heavy goods vehicle.

Meanwhile, the A9 at Causewaymyre in Latheron has reopened after another lorry jack-knifed, completely blocking the road.

Northern Constabulary has warned motorists to check the weather forecast ahead of travelling.

Snow and ice remains a hazard on a number of Highland roads.
