At LEAST 30 people were involved in a four-vehicle crash which closed part of a busy trunk road for about three hours yesterday.
A double-decker bus carrying 29 passengers, a heavy goods vehicle and two cars crashed just after 8am on the A9 at Munlochy junction, north of Inverness and Kessock Bridge.
Northern Police said that some of the bus passengers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A man driving one of the cars was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but was released after a check-up.
The southbound carriageway of the A9 was closed for 30 minutes and was restricted to one lane for a further two and a half hours while the vehicles were removed.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
