Transplant teenager gets ready for games
A TEENAGER from West Lothian whose life was saved by a kidney transplant is preparing to take part in the British Transplant Games.
Gary Robertson, 15, who received the treatment in 2002, has already won several medals at previous games, and this week he will compete in Coventry at this year's event.
Gary has said that the incentive of the games helped him build his fitness up after the complex procedure.
The event's spokeswoman Lynne Holt said: "The games offers people a demonstration of the power of organ donation."
The aim of the event is to persuade people to sign up for the NHS Donor Register.
The games take place between 30 July and 2 August.
