Trams on course
In reply to your report that Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations are to be scaled back because of late-running work on the tram system (25 August), we would like to make it absolutely clear that the Edinburgh tram project will hand Princes Street back to the city by the end of November, as planned.
Measures are already in place to ensure this date is met, as promised and agreed with appropriate stakeholders.
It is less than helpful that inaccurate, unsubstantiated and sometimes misleading information is published without verification first being sought and we would like to reassure the people of Edinburgh that our plans for Princes Street remain absolutely on course.
