Tram plan collapse shifts NHS attention to parking
PROVIDING sufficient car parking at the Western General is the new focus of NHS bosses organising transport arrangements at the hospital.
It had been hoped that a second tramline would be the main point of access to an expanded facility in Craigleith, but the second line is now unlikely to be built.
Iain Graham, head of capital planning and premises development for NHS Lothian, said: "Transport planning work will be progressed with a concentration on car parking and site access requirements."
