Trains' festive shutdown

RAIL passengers travelling with Virgin Cross Country from Edinburgh have been advised to check timetables over Christmas and New Year.

The rail operator is closing its network down earlier than normal on Christmas Eve, and starting later than normal on Wednesday, December 27. There are no services on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

On New Year's Eve, services will stop earlier than usual.
