Tourists importing malaria back to UK

TRAVELLERS being careless with their health while visiting friends and relatives in Africa are importing a deadly form of malaria into the UK, according to the Health Protection Agency.

Between 1987 and 2006, the number of cases of infection by Plasmodium falciparum jumped from 5,120 to 6,753.
