Tourism standards boost
A PANEL of tourism and hospitality experts was yesterday appointed to make the industry in Scotland the "envy" of the world.
The task force will review qualifications and hotel industry schools across the country to ensure they reach the highest standards.
Jim Mather, minister for enterprise, energy and tourism, said it was important to equip the next generation to improve Scotland's reputation.
He added: "It is their Scottish hospitality, their standards of service and their skills which will set our great country apart.
"This new group will ensure that those standards continue to rise, leading to a highly responsive Scottish tourism industry which will be the envy of countries across the world."
