Top US burns expert visits Lothian hospital
ONE of America's top burns experts has visited St John's Hospital, Livingston.
Dr Bruce Friedman is the clinical director of the Joseph M Still Burn Centre in Georgia, one of the largest in the US, and was keen to see work done in the burns and plastic surgery units at the Livingston hospital.
He was shown round the department and met staff working there as part of his UK tour.
Craig Hurnauth, who arranged the visit, said: "Dr Friedman was extremely impressed by all the clinical areas he visited and by the knowledge, skills and friendliness of all the staff he met.
"He has formed a lasting impression of the people of Scotland and NHS Lothian and has said he would like to return in the future."
