Tolkien's house made listed building
THE eight-bedroom house where JRR Tolkien wrote The Hobbit and the Lord Of The Rings trilogy has been made a listed building.
The author lived in the 1920s villa in Northmoor Road, Oxford, from 1930 to 1947, while he was a professor at the university. It recently sold for more than 1.5 million.
