Tiger forces train to stop

TRAIN operator GNER is reminding golf fans heading to the Open that its services are stopping at Carnoustie to cope with demand for the tournament.

Services running between Edinburgh and Aberdeen normally run non-stop between Dundee and Arbroath.

GNER chief executive Jonathan Metcalfe said: "The interest in this year's Open is all the more intense now that the world number one, Tiger Woods, is aiming to be the first man since 1956 to win the contest three times in a row."
