Thirty firefighters involved in Perth dog rescue

MORE than 30 firefighters from Tayside Fire and Rescue Service were today involved in rescuing a dog, stuck on a steep cliff face on the outskirts of Perth.

The black Labrador had become stranded on the cliff face at Kinnoull Hill which towers over the Dundee to Perth dual carriageway at the entrance to the city.

The dog was reunited with its owner following a three hour rescue operation involving a specialist unit from Perth and fire units from Perth, Dunkeld and Coupar Angus Firefighters were lowered by rope to reach the stranded pet.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Fire and Rescue Service said: “The dog appears to be fine.”
