Third Firth of Forth Bridge to Fife is tough call

IF THE Scottish Government does decide to look for a more memorable name for the bridge, here are some suggestions.

For a kick-off, if they are looking for something extremely current, then perhaps the Mubarak Bridge, in honour of way they told us: "That's the name and that's it"

Another potential replacement could be the Wills and Kate Crossing, popular with unionists.

For those of a more independent mind, the Salmond's Leap might be appealing.

Perhaps, however, what is needed is a politically neutral but suitably taxing tongue-twister, such as the Third Firth of Forth to Fife Bridge, to reflect the difficulty the government has in trying to complete any project of this scale.
