Therapists hail Ugandan spirit
THREE NHS Lothian occupational therapists have returned from a training mission to Uganda – and praised local health workers there for being resourceful with little equipment.
Carolyn Atkinson, Laura Braithwaite and Tony Kimera visited the African country to train occupational therapists. Ms Atkinson said: "About 50 Ugandans came to the training course. We visitors saw more of life as it is for Ugandan people than we ever would have done as tourists.
"We had the opportunity to visit some of our 'students' at work and were amazed at how they manage to work with such limited resources, and yet how resourceful they can be in making equipment."
