Theatre awards come to capital
SCOTLAND'S top theatre awards are to be staged in Edinburgh for the first time in a glittering ceremony at the Festival Theatre, it was announced yesterday.
The Critics' Awards for Theatre in Scotland have been growing in stature since their founding seven years ago, marking milestone productions from Black Watch to last year's winner, Dundee Rep's Peer Gynt. Tickets are on sale for this year's awards on 14 June.
Scotsman theatre critic and CATS co-convener Joyce MacMillan said the show was a celebration for theatre professionals and the public, adding: "We are delighted to be coming to Edinburgh."
