Theatre: More Lives Than One - Oscar Wilde and the Black Douglas
MORE LIVES THAN ONE – OSCAR WILDE AND THE BLACK DOUGLAS ** AUGUSTINE'S (VENUE 152)
OSCAR himself has all the best lines in this rather grudging appreciation of his life and work. While the performer throws himself into impersonations of Lady Bracknell and of Edward Carson, the lawyer who defended Queensberry in Wilde's trial, his portrayal of Wilde himself is weak, colourless and makes him seem rather inconsequential.
