The Southern General Hospital

James Nisbet of Clermiston asks: My grandfather died in the Southern General Hospital in Edinburgh in 1942. My query is: Where was this hospital situated and what became of it?

CW Florist replies: I am sure it was in Ferry Road .. almost opposite East Fettes Avenue.

June McCondochie: I think it was next to the City Hospital at Greenbank/Firhill and became Greenlea old folks' home before being converted to flats.
