THE Malcolm Group has reported steady progress thanks to an increase in activity in its logistics division.
Pre-tax profits in the year to 31 January rose by 32 per cent to £6.5 million partly due to gains on asset sales. Turnover edged up 1 per cent to £192.4m.
Commenting on the results, group chief executive Andrew Malcolm said the company was well placed to pursue future business opportunities.
“Going into 2013, activity levels in both the logistics and construction services divisions in the first few months are in line with our expectations.”
The highest paid director, presumed to be Malcolm, received £461,992, virtually unchanged on last year.
Staff numbers at the company, which operates 450 lorries and 1,000 trailers, dipped to 1,920 from 1,929.
