Thatcher girl is highlight of celebrity show
THE daughter of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher drove along a high-wire track suspended 100ft above the ground on live TV.
Carol Thatcher took part in the challenge to earn dinner for almost half the contestants on reality contest I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here.
She got behind the wheel of a specially-built postal car despite not holding a driving licence.
Her task in the first celebrity Bushtucker Trial was to deliver a mailbag of stars into ten boxes spaced along the track.
"If I'd have known this I would have brought my chauffeur," Carol said.
She did her best with the task and picked up four stars - earning four meals for the group.
But as she headed for the fifth star the car shot forward and off the high-wire track, plunging into the jungle below.
Carol was left dangling by her harness in mid-air.
She uttered a four-letter word then added: "So sorry for swearing."
