Tesco car-jack terror for OAP
A PENSIONER has been subjected to an attempted car-jacking in Penicuik.
The 67-year-old was in the Tesco car park on Edinburgh Road at 1.15pm yesterday when a man approached and threatened him, demanding he hand over the vehicle.
When the driver shouted for help the suspect ran away from the blue BMW towards the Ladywood area.
The suspect is described as being white, between 20-25 years old and of medium build. He was around 5ft 9in tall, unshaven and with freckles on his face. He was wearing a brown baseball capand dark coloured top and was carrying a light blue rucksack.
A police spokeswoman said: "Although the man was unsuccessful in his attempt to steal the vehicle, this would have been a traumatic incident for the owner of the car."
