Ten Questions: Personal life coach Kelly Thacker
Kelly Thacker, 28, lives in Duddingston. She is a personal life coach and owner of Lust for Life Coaching
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? I was brought up in Brechin and remember our primary six trip was to Edinburgh. It took forever to get there but we went to the Commonwealth Pool which seemed massive compared to our community pool back home.
What are your memories of school? I went to Brechin High School which I enjoyed to a point. There was a real mix of people there. I remember sitting in the assembly hall every break to gossip with my friends.
Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? I love sitting at the bottom of Arthur's Seat. It's a real thinking place for me and I can clear my head here. I love people watching here too.
What are the best things about Edinburgh? I love the fact that people are comfortable and confident to be themselves in the city. People are so much more open-minded here and this makes for a happier place.
What would you change about the city? I would make the sun shine a bit longer in the summer months.
Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. I would start with eggs benedict at Bijou followed by a walk along the Water of Leith. I would stop in Stockbridge for lunch, followed by an afternoon of browsing around the shops. From here, a mulled wine at the German market and a film at the Dominion.
Which sports interest you? Any I can take part in myself. I love hillwalking and swimming and have pledged to complete some kind of run this year.
What was your most embarrassing moment? I went to the Asda in Livingston once and after an hour of shopping, I lost my car. I had to tell the security guard it had been stolen and when he asked where I had parked it, I pointed to the spot I thought it was in. We walked there together and found it. I was red-faced all the way home.
What is your greatest achievement? I travelled the world for a year with my boyfriend (now husband), but the biggest is completing my life coach training and setting up a successful business. I have never looked back.
