Ten Questions: Sandrine Sienche
Sandrine Sienche, 25, who lives in the New Town, is marketing manager for i4 Product Design
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? Rolling into Waverley Station, peeking through the windows, seeing the castle and wondering where I'd ended up!
What are your memories of school? I attended QRC Okoyong in Cameroon (West Africa), which was a boarding school. It was great, but we were miles away from home and only saw our parents during the holidays, so my favourite days were when I received a big cardboard box from home filled to bursting with yummy treats, letters from home and other bits and bobs.
Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? Princes Street Gardens – it looks stunning in summer. I also love walking up the Royal Mile to the castle, and then taking the narrow path down from there into the gardens.
What are the best things about Edinburgh? The people, the architecture and of course the many festivals that the city puts on.
What would you change about the city? Get the trams sorted before this August! I love the Edinburgh Festival, but I wonder how much fun it will be this year with all that work still going on....
Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. Coffee and a good book at the Circle Cafe, followed by a stroll in the Botanic Garden and a show at the Playhouse. I might also head to Cafe Andaluz for dinner.
Which sports interest you? I love watching a bit of football now and then, especially the international games.
What was your most embarrassing moment? When I was 14 I had a pretty impressive afro. When I came back from school for the holidays, I noticed we had new neighbours, so my brother and I ran to their back gate to peek. They were in the garden but I couldn't see them, so I forced my head through the railings of their back gate. Unfortunately my head got stuck and they heard all the commotion, so they came round the back and caught me trying to pull my head out!
What is your greatest achievement? Getting my MBA at Napier University and consequentially, the opportunity to work for i4 Product Design.
