Ten Questions: Pamela Farquhar
Pamela Farquhar 30, from Broughton, is manager of M&S at Craigleith
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? One of my first was Easter Sunday: all the family went to Queen's Park with our decorated Easter eggs. I think I got quite upset when I went to eat it and discovered it wasn't chocolate, it was in fact a hard-boiled egg.
What are your memories of school? I went to Drummond Community High School. I really enjoyed school up until fourth year but then started to drift a bit when I sat my Highers.
Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? Probably The Shore. I love the mix of bars and restaurants.
What are the best things about Edinburgh? My favourite thing about Edinburgh is the skyline, I love walking along Princes Street and looking up to the Castle and Ramsay Garden.
What would you change about the city? I love living in Edinburgh but would like a bit more of the excitement that big cities like London or New York bring.
Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out? I'd start with a Bellini Breakfast in Rick's with my husband, then I would meet up with friends or my mum to do some shopping, go to Harvey Nichols for a champagne manicure, then to George Street for dinner.
What sports interest you? I've never really been into sports, unless you can class shopping and celebrity trivia as a sport.
What was your most embarrassing moment? When I was young I had a photo taken at nursery – I was clearly not happy about getting it done and looked really grumpy. My mum and dad decided to buy it and put it in the hall – that was nice of them!
What is your greatest achievement? I opened Craigleith Simply Food store, which was my first store management appointment four years ago, and I am absolutely delighted to be managing the new store.
Sum up Edinburgh in three words? Home sweet home.
