Ten Questions: Caroline Rogers

CAROLINE ROGERS, 32, lives in Craiglockhart and work as a senior crime analyst for Lothian and Borders Police.

1 What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? Coming up in the summer of 1998 and staying in a flat on the Grassmarket under the Castle. I couldn't believe how friendly and warm everyone seemed.

2 What are your memories of school? I went to Burbage Primary School in Buxton and my memories were mostly positive, apart from the really scary and old reception teacher who petrified everyone. My favourite things were playing netball, country dancing, school trips and Christmas parties.

3 Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? The Botanic Garden. It's such a tranquil beautiful place and holds some really special memories. It's an absolutely perfect place on a sunny day for a relaxing Sunday afternoon stroll, picnic and bottle of wine.

4 What are the best things about Edinburgh? Everywhere is really accessible and only a bus journey away. There always seems to be so much going on throughout the whole year and in addition to the Six Nations and Comedy Festival, there are now some great West End musical productions.

5 What would you change about the city? Let us have a Wagamama, bring back the N27 night bus and clear up the early morning rubbish around Bristo Square that ruins my walk to work.

6 Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. It would be a sunny summer's day and I would start off with a morning run up round the Braids or a cycle along the Union Canal. In the afternoon I would take a walk with my boyfriend along the Water of Leith to The Shore and have a nice late lunch at King's Wharf and then head up to the Udderbelly where I'd meet up with some friends for a comedy show and some drinks.

7 Which sports interest you? Pretty much everything but especially athletics, cycling, football and tennis.

8 What was your most embarrassing moment? Probably doing a very overzealous Rhinestone Cowboy impression round the dance floor of a club.

9 What is your greatest achievement? Completing the Edinburgh Marathon last year in a respectable time.
