Teenager badly injured in gang attack in Erskine
A TEENAGER was seriously hurt in an attack by a gang of youths who chased him along a footpath, police said today.
The 18-year-old was treated for internal injuries following the assault in Erskine, Renfrewshire, on Monday night.
Police are treating the attack as attempted murder and have appealed for witnesses.
The victim was chased along a path near the town's Macduff area at about 9.30pm. Two males have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable John Hume said: "We have no clear motive for the assault at this time, however officers have been making extensive enquiries throughout the area.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Macduff at this time and who saw the group to contact us.
"We would also like to speak to anybody who may have seen this group in the area of North Barr before or after the attack to come forward."
