Technology to cut health bill

HEALTH boards and the Scottish Government have been urged to commit more funding to technology by a city organisation.

The Royal College of Nursing in Scotland said ehealth and telehealth initiatives would not only improve patient care but would also save money in the long term.

Director Theresa Fyffe commented: "Clinical portal technology – technology that allows the sharing of patient data which in turn improves standards of care – has huge potential benefits."
