Team benefits cancer victims
A TEAM set up to help tackle the financial worries of people affected by cancer has helped increase benefits uptake by £1.6 million in the last year.
The West Lothian Macmillan Advice Team is a partnership between West Lothian Council's Advice Shop and the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
In its first 12 months, the team has helped 461 local residents with their finances.
Linda Adlard, senior welfare rights officer, said: "We are delighted at the difference we are making to residents and will continue our efforts."
