Tavish tackles the takeover
SCOTTISH Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott took the campaign against the HBOS takeover to the doorstep of the bank's headquarters on The Mound when he stood outside and handed out leaflets to passers-by.
He claims the takeover by Lloyds TSB would not be in the best interests of customers or shareholders and could lead to a skills exodus from the Capital.
Mr Scott said: "People in Edinburgh are understandably concerned about this takeover. Expert opinion is clear. Thousands of jobs across Scotland will go and competition will be harmed. That means higher charges for account holders and small businesses."
